Hi, and welcome to markhorner.com. I’m Mark Horner — a storyteller at heart.
For twenty years I worked in television news as a journalist, where I was fortunate to win numerous awards, including more than once for investigative reporting. That work also led to my book, September Sacrifice, a true crime account of the Girly Chew Hossencofft case. If you’re looking for the content about that case that once lived here, no worries — it’s over at septembersacrifice.com.
Since 2009, I’ve been with the Washington State Department of Licensing. For my first ten years there I produced videos for both external and internal audiences out of the director’s office, where I was once named Employee of the Year. In 2020 I moved into Human Resources, and today I’m on the Employee Learning and Development team, where I interview, script, shoot, edit, and narrate video training for our employees.
What ties it all together is curiosity. I love learning new tools and finding fresh ways to tell a story — which is how projects like my interactive 3D brain page come to life.
Thanks for stopping by. Take a look around.
Warm regards,
Mark Horner
